FinClose is a private, internal financial-close tool built and operated by E1 Technology, Inc. ("E1", "we") solely for E1's own accounting and finance function. It is not distributed, sold, licensed, or made available to any third party, and it has no public users. The only QuickBooks Online company it connects to is E1's own.
Because FinClose has no external users, this policy describes how the application handles E1's own accounting data when it connects to Intuit's QuickBooks Online APIs. It is published to satisfy Intuit's requirement that every application accessing production data provide a publicly reachable privacy policy.
When authorized by an E1 administrator via Intuit's OAuth 2.0 flow, FinClose may read and write the following categories of E1's own QuickBooks Online accounting data:
realmId) and fiscal-year settingsFinClose also processes bank and card statement files that E1 exports from its own financial institutions (Brex and Wells Fargo) for reconciliation against the ledger.
FinClose does not access QuickBooks Payments or QuickBooks Payroll data, and does not process consumer personal information, payment card numbers, or bank account credentials.
Exclusively to perform E1's own month-end close: reconciling bank and card activity to the ledger, identifying exceptions requiring human review, preparing adjusting journal entries, and producing internal financial reporting. Data is not used for any other purpose.
FinClose runs as a local command-line application on E1-controlled workstations. Accounting data retrieved from QuickBooks Online is held in local working files on that machine for the duration of a close and is not transmitted to any hosted service operated by E1 or by anyone else.
E1 does not sell, rent, or share QuickBooks Online data obtained through FinClose with any third party. There are no advertising partners, data brokers, or analytics providers in the data path. Data may be disclosed only where required by law, or to E1's own accountants and auditors acting under a professional engagement.
Local working files are retained only as long as needed to complete and support the relevant accounting period, and to satisfy E1's record-retention and audit obligations. Retrieved data may be deleted at any time without affecting the QuickBooks Online ledger, which remains the system of record.
FinClose is an internal business tool. It is not directed to children, is not accessible to the public, and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18.
If FinClose's data handling changes materially — for example, if processing moves to a hosted environment or a third-party service is introduced into the data path — this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before the change takes effect.
